  • Grants Development Coordinator at Community College of Baltimore County, developing grants with Deans and faculty of each school within the college, 2010-2020.

 

  • Director of the Washington Village Planning Council in Southwest, Baltimore, developing and implementing grants for crime prevention, ex-offender programs, sanitation and community development from 2008-2010.

 

  • Director of Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc. a fair housing and tenant-landlord assistance program. Filed over 50 lawsuits based on discrimination in housing through its’ Legal Committee over 12 years. All settled favorably. Built strong relationships with community, business, legal and govt. entities in the pursuit of fair housing (1995-2007).

 

  • Director of HARBEL Community Organization. Managed community-based organization that included, community organizing, Mayor’s Station, mental health and addiction services, delinquency prevention, and housing counseling. (1980-1989).

 

  • Adjunct Faculty

    • University of Maryland School of Social Work. Faculty for a 3 credit methods course in community organization provided to first year students, (1994-2001).

    • Adjunct faculty for Sociology at both Essex and Dundalk Community College.

 

  • Volunteer

    • Johns Hopkins, Bayview Medical Center, Community Advisory Board 1986 – 2020.

 

  • Education

    • Master’s in Social Work, University of Maryland, School of Social Work, 1980.
