Charmeda “Char” McCready is the Executive Director of CPHA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Towson University and a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Char has over twenty-three years of experience in the nonprofit sector in various roles. Char owns her own business.

Char has spent the majority of her career working in housing-related work. Notable past work experience includes her role as a Director of Community Engagement at CPHA, her Fair Housing work at Baltimore Neighborhoods Inc. (BNI), Fair Housing Rights Center in Southeastern Pennsylvania & the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), and her work as a Senior Housing Navigator at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (MD DHCD).
